Shot at a nice 8 this morning. Shot felt good but he ran about 50 yards and stopped. Started snorting and walked away. No blood or hair. Anyone killed one that snorted after being shot?

Sounds like a miss to me but would still go look.I did the infamous let's watch and see if he goes down instead of sending another one. Lesson learned
The buck I killed on November 1st this year, the shot felt good, but the deer started walking away like he was gut shot. Luckily I got back on him and when he got quartering away and I squeezed off another round. Turned out my first shot hit low brisket, there was a twig I didn't see that I hit, which sent my shot low.Shot felt good but he ran about 50 yards and stopped.
Sling lead brother !I will say after years of passing and not shooting when it does come time to shoot it's so foreign you forget how. Totally rushed it.
