For years a bucket list item was to go red fishing in S. Louisiana. Different friends have gone and always had a blast. it's looking more and more like I'm going to be able to go this year. Any advice on charters & the trip in general? I'm thinking that over fall break possibly or sometime after duck season is over.
Thanks

There are two distinct types of redfish fishing in the bayou. One is done in a bay boat with popping corks. The other is done in a flats boat sight fishing in the backcountry ponds.

I highly recommend the flats boat style but it's probably not the type of fishing your buddies have experienced.

Highly recommend these guys. They are all good but I usually use Capt. Darien. They are based in Bay St. Louis MS and fish both MS and LA waters. Been going with them for years.
