Nock height and brace height

My nock is set at 1/2.inch high . Lowering or raising nock does what to arrow flight ? My samick journey has a brace height recommendation. Of 7.5 to 8.5 what's the best why to find the correct brace height ?

Nock set and brace is all part of the tuning process. I will see if I can find an article on it.
