its the male that bites them off not the female.My grandpa always explained to me that the female (mother) squirrel had bitten the little ones nuts off when it was in the nest.
I've seen quite a few like that, always believed what he said.
AMEN!!!!We've got some Repubs in Washington that don't have any balls either.
Big ole red squirrels will get grays down and chew 'em off. Very traumatic to witness. Probably territorial.Been a long time scene I have seen one with no balls but shot one yesterday in LBL and yes it was a male. I have seen them in the past but it has been awhile.
Coyotes might be even more extreme than this. I have read that they will kill the pups in times of high male population.This is what I have been told, they did it when there was a excess of males.
