Been a long time scene I have seen one with no balls but shot one yesterday in LBL and yes it was a male. I have seen them in the past but it has been awhile.
Yep, they're also known as "married" squirrels.Their balls retract up into them outside of breeding season.

Mine are kept in my wife's purseYep, they're also know as "married" squirrels.![]()
i have found 2 baby squirrels that had fallen/jumped out of the nest, that had their balls chewed off. I was told it was male squirrels that did it to the babiesMy grandpa always explained to me that the female (mother) squirrel had bitten the little ones nuts off when it was in the nest.
I've seen quite a few like that, always believed what he said.
This is what I have been told, they did it when there was a excess of males.i have found 2 baby squirrels that had fallen/jumped out of the nest, that had their balls chewed off. I was told it was male squirrels that did it to the babies

They discuss this very thing. Their balls retract up into them outside of breeding season. Is there a chance that it did have them, but you didn't notice them while cleaning it?

Those don't retract up...they're in a jar back at the nest only to be brought out when she decides he can have them.Yep, they're also known as "married" squirrels.![]()

AMEN!!!!We've got some Repubs in Washington that don't have any balls either.
Big ole red squirrels will get grays down and chew 'em off. Very traumatic to witness. Probably territorial.Been a long time scene I have seen one with no balls but shot one yesterday in LBL and yes it was a male. I have seen them in the past but it has been awhile.
Coyotes might be even more extreme than this. I have read that they will kill the pups in times of high male population. This is what I have been told, they did it when there was a excess of males.
