Cool deal. Well not cool for those in summer county having land leased out from under them. But it's an awesome buck

I think he was talking about the most scorable points on a whitetail deer.Something like 49 - 50 -51 points

Expect a lot more "world records" in the near future with all the so called "deer farming" going on. Especially freak, non typicals like this. ;)

was that deer you shot a WR as well? I know it had 51 pts, but 2 broke off. I wondered if it was a WR, but don't remember you saying ti was. Was it the state record?

I know you shot a big one with a bow too.

YEP sure is. I said yesterday on one of the FB pages, if you don;t own the land, I hope you have deep pockets. Lot of folks will be pushed off their lands once the word gets out.

Gotcha, didnt think we had ever had any World record Score racks from TN previous to this. Learned something however as I didnt know there was a record for # of pts and definitely didnt know it was his deer from TN. Very cool!

Yeah it holds the world record for most points ever on a free range buck @ 51 pts, it held the black powder world record for a few years too

I tend to agree. While I do NOT think this particular buck was released from a pen, I have a sneaky suspicion that there will be some genetically selected bucks that will be released into free ranging wild so hunters can kill them for the sake of $$$ and endorsements.

I have a friend who does some contract work for a rancher in TX who has one of the best herds for antler scores... 1.5 y/o's will score above 150"; 2.5 y/o's are mid 200's, and 3.5 y/o's are routinely above 300".

If there was ever any doubt that our long time 3 buck limit was producing quality bucks in TN this should answer the question!!!

Nothing to do with 1, 2, 3, or whatever buck limit in any way other than the area it was killed in there is a genetic trait producing these deer.

Could be wrong but I don't see anything "creating" this caliber of bucks all of a sudden. There are always places that seem to grow bigger than ordinary deer. Someone just happened to catch up with a couple of them.

LOL, I just made that post before some goofshoes made the post of, 2 buck limit already working and a World record top show for it!! :P
I agree definitely appears to be a strain of Genetics in that area that produces some crazy antler growth. I just think a lot of people will be sadly mistaken when they run the prices WAY up and pay out the wazoo in that area.

Tell me more about this deer.

listen ..........God is talking he said use jackstands......

I can't find the info, but that pic showed up in the discussion on the WR buck on FB. It was also killed in Sumner county and is (I believe) the new typical state record. It scored right over 190. Something like that.

***edit**** I changed the post and removed the "right over 180" because the current state record typical is 186 and change. So if my assumption is right and that deer scored just over 190 it would be the new typical state record.

****Edit to the edit*** Deer was killed in Sumner county scored 185 and maybe some change. It is the #3 typical of all time in TN. The relevance of that deer is it was killed in the same county as the Tucker buck, so just more fuel to the dumpster fire that will be Sumner county and surrounding lease prices....

The 185 typical buck is #3 in world for Black powder records and yes it was also killed in Sumner co.
