I've only been shooting bows for 4 years, is this common? Had it all full draw and just about to shoot, when this happened. Sounded like a rifle shot, arrow went about 5 yds. No injury, but surprised the heck out of me. Bow is an Elite Huntr 33, bought new last year.

Elite stands behind their bows. I would contact them and or go talk to the shop were you bought it. Would not buy a new string until it's looked at by someone that is knowledgeable.
You're correct; I've already spoken with Harvest Archery (where I bought it) and sent them pics. Taking it to them as soon as I get off work. Doc has always been great to deal with, and I have no doubt that this time will be the same.

I have seen bow limbs crack and fray but never a cam failure. Glad to see the bow shop is taking care of you.
