Saw article earlier about teenager catching new state record in Polk county. That's one big trout. 18 pounds or so I think

Yeah, many people are giving the 15 year old grief since he caught it in a farm pond. Great job young man I say. Just don't know about the 20 minutes it took to get it in. I've caught 30 lb salmon and had then landed in 6 minutes. I bet it seemed like for ever trying to reel it in though.

Saw it last night on facebook.
Very happy for the young man.

From the TWRA facebook page:

"The fish, caught by 15 year old John Morgan of Benton, weighed in at 18 pounds 8 ounces. The fish measured a whopping 32 inches long and 22 and a quarter inches in girth. The previous record, a 16 pound 15 ounce fish was set in 2002 by Ronnie Rowland at Ft. Patrick Henry Reservoir."

I guess it all depends on your setup.
