So these two deer I got pictures of on two different family farms. Just curious as to think hold old you think these are and if I should let them go. Really wanting to wait honestly if they are young. Mist everyone around me shoots anything that walks ut im ive been trying past 6 years to let deer walk and not had much results with gaining older deer. The raacks dont mean much as the killing a mature buck ia a challenge to me. Although one has a smaller left side than his right imo his g2 on the left may come back next year who knows. As for the 6, if he is older I assume he wouldn't put on much next year and to me there's alot of meet on his bones we could eat lol

You can only shoot what you have. Holding out for a 5yr old buck will be frustrating if bucks get killed in your area before they can reach that age. IMO, shoot the oldest deer you can reasonably hunt, whatever age class that may be. If you are killing the oldest bucks in the area then you are doing the best you can, even that means 2yr & 3yr olds. Don Higgins himself can't kill a 5yr old if it doesn't exist.

That said, I agree with backyardtndeer on his guesses.

I know it's easy to say....but don't let trail cam pics or lack of discourage you....like Ski said....pick the oldest buck you got and hunt him....but let the fact that a giant could show up in November drive you....a giant that you have never seen.... believe me it happens....hang in there and hunt hard....good luck hunting.

Yep. Sometimes we get trail cam pics of bucks that we never end up laying eyes on, and then sometimes we have a buck show up that we never got a single trail cam pic of.

Thanks for the encouragement. I need to find a lease but there just isn't much close to me or any that I have heard of/can find.

It's a short drive but we have a few WMA's surrounding Manchester.
Yeah I would just have absolutely no idea where to start lol I've been looking into it and actually drove out to barks camp Barrens between me and Manchester and I couldn't even find the dang check in station or anywhere to park lol

I'd be happy to show you around a bit if you like. I haven't speed scouted any of the local WMA's yet this year anyway. There are several within just a few miles of one another, and none except AEDC have a check-in station.
