Kodiak bears of Alaska

Anyone been up there - not to shoot them, just to be tourists and look at them? We went to Alaska on vacation a few years back, ever since my wife has wanted to return & see the bears. Looks like a pretty expensive trip, though.

Seen a few in denali. Had one come into camp one night and i could hear it breathing beside my tent. Pretty unnerving knowing a milimeter of nylon is between you and him. I think he smelled my toothpaste. Next morning you could see his tracks about two feet from my tent. He even took a big dump and it WAS awful.

These pictures are from the Uganik River Kodiak Ak.

These guys fished daily near our camp. The last one was less than thirty yards from camp. Had to shoot the 44 mag to scare him away.
