Friend of mine works for Helena Chemical we were talking tonight and he advised not to spray 2,4D when it is humid out like it has been last few days. Reason being the humidity will carry the chemical into unwanted areas. If fog rolls in it can be lifted and carried even further from treated site.

Should always be careful with 2-4-D it has a drift rating of 2 miles..Our local co-op will not even sell it at certain times of the year, because of the damage it could cause to local crops. 2-4-D is bad stuff and should be used with caution.

Yes it can cause volatilize and drift, hot temps and high humidity make it worse. 24D low volatile ester is supposed to be good to something like 95 degrees, check label to be sure as always. Lets say you spray 24D a field or two over from a high dollar crop that is susceptible to 24D, your 24D volatilizes and drifts and kills the other farmers crop. You better have a lot of cash or good insurance in that case if it is traced back to you.
