Took my Grandson to Claiborne county to hunt a river bottom farm thanks to 2 great buddys. about 8 or so we had a Buck and a doe step out and start feeding at about 200 yards, Winchester 300wm, 150g corelocks. grandson waited till the buck turned sideways and put his head down, Crack and he bolted for the thicket/woods 100y away where he went out of site. 16 year old was almost as tore up as I was lol. He reloaded and on hindsight I should have pu the shooting sticks and adjusted for standing shooting. walked about 50y and I spotted the doe that was with the buck about 150y up in the tall grass, told him to take a shot, Clean miss but thats better than a bad shot. Got down to where they hit the weeds and bushes and found blood, 30y or so and he was piled up, perfect shot imo even though he ran over 100y, right above the heart lungs were jello, pass thru about a 3" hole on both sides , this is his biggest deer to date, maybe it will stoke the fire and he will continue after I am unable. will post a few pictures off the phone. great hunt to end the year ,might get out in the morning for a few but today will be hard to beat .

Proud of his shot, not sure it could have been any better at that distance
