I ended my season sunday trying to fill doe tags without any luck. I did see a dang nice buck though (maybe bigger than the one I killed) out in a field probably 4-500yds from me. With my gun on my shoulder and nothing to lose I decided to see how close I could get to him. As luck would have it I snuck to within 60 yds before he got nervous and eased off. Sucked to have to let such a good buck walk bit it was fun anyway.

I have enjoyed reading everyone's posts about their hunts on the fort this year as I was unable to get a permit this year and be up there in the mix with the rest of ya.

I have not been to the fort since a few years back my first hunt got me lost in area 22 or 23 most of the morning (as I tried to stay away from gunshots and anyone hunting in ahead of me).

However doing areal scouting and talking with friends who hunt it I hope to have a better understanding of the place and will be back up there with my wife hunting on opening weekend in '14.
