We knocked down 10 miles of river today. Filled the cooler with big blue gill, rock bass and spotted bass. Caught probably 30 smallmouth and several largemouth. Smallmouth were all really striped up. Wind was brutal. But the bite great. Doubled up on smallmouth several times- lol- the small one in this pic was mine. Now time to clean fish. All were caught on ultra lights with 4 lb line. Some we're definitely a challenge

What was your most productive baits and terrain?
We only use plastics. 2 and 3 " grubs on 1/16th oz jig heads.

Since we were fishing for groceries we targeted bluegill and rockbass. When we had a full cooler, we started fishing currents and deep bluffs for large smallies.

Buddy of mine fixed some small mouth fillets one time. Absolutely delicious! Come to find out hardly nobody eats them
