Smallmouth?

Is this a smallmouth? If so I've never seen one this far south. Or in a farm pond.

No definitely not a smallmouth. Some kind of bliegill /sunfish/ shellcracker. Looks alot like a rock bass but they wouldnt be in a farm pond/ need cooler water and more dissolved oxygen (like a smallmouth would)

Thanks WTM, I saw that on a chart and thought it resembled somewhat.

Somebody confidently told me smallmouth, that wasn't my first guess.
I don't feel so stupid now with several different IDs on this thread.

Pretty sure you're right and it's green sunfish.
