My favorite part of the deer is the heart. I used to eat them the night of the kill. I usually just sear them after cutting them into slices. With the advent of CWD, I stick them in the freezer to await test results. All of my buddies know how much I enjoy them, so they give me theirs as well. They will all eat them, but are not as keen on it as I am.
As things sit right now, I have 9 hearts in the freezer with test results pending on just 1 more. I want to do a dinner get together with all of my hunting buddies at the end of the season and use some or all of the hearts. I am trying to come up with ideas of how to cook so many.
I was thinking of something like deer heart vindaloo, maybe tacos?
What else do you all have for recipes on something like this?
