I've had a hankering for this rifle with 22" barrel for a while and have located what I'll call a decent deal. Any of y'all have input on this weapon?

That and pond varmints.Long range yote killing?
It's the American....Which model are you talking about specifically? My daughter killed her first deer with a 527 lux in 223. I've also had a varmint laminate in 223. Excellent rifles. The set trigger is awesome.
Awesome rifle. I had americans in 222 and 6.5 grendel. Only thing I don't care for...that magazine. Jabs you in the back when slung. If they made a flush fit, it would be perfect. It's the American....

They make a flush fit magazine for them now I think.Awesome rifle. I had americans in 222 and 6.5 grendel. Only thing I don't care for...that magazine. Jabs you in the back when slung. If they made a flush fit, it would be perfect.
It's 1:9 and you're correct on the 5.56 being OK.Pay attention to what the twist is. They offered 2 different twist rates in the 223. Also, they use CIP, not saami specs, so 5.56 is ok to use.
The only rifle sling that I'll ever use in this life is the Safari Sling that keeps the weapon in front, across the body and ready for use. Maybe the nag won't be an issue and I'll also check on the flush mount mag.Awesome rifle. I had americans in 222 and 6.5 grendel. Only thing I don't care for...that magazine. Jabs you in the back when slung. If they made a flush fit, it would be perfect.
I don't have any .224 projectiles over 55gr at the moment. Maybe I can do some trading for some heavier boolits. I have some 6.5 Nosler Partition 140gr that I'll never load.I do believe the Nosler 70 grain Accubond will stabilize in a 1:9 twist.
