Ran across a savage 12 223 heavy barrel black stock with leupold rings and base nikon 3x9 x40 scope. Dont really need to have it but it was priced right at 550.00. Deal or Not ?

It depends on which Model 12 it is. But it looks to me like new price on any Model 12 heavy barrel is a grand or more by itself??
Even though Nikon isn't selling scope anymore, a nikon 3x9 x40, plus base and rings scope has to be worth at least a hundred if its in decent working condition.

Of it is a solid bottom reciever with large shank, it's a target action. A target action alone costs right at $600
