CWD counties now go from archery to muzzleloaders Nov6 but also rifles are allowed. Will you hunt with a muzzleloader any or just go straight to centerfire rifle?

I love hunting with my muzzleloader but probably mostly because of the season dates fall in line with the best chase phase in my area. If I was in cedar area, I would prob go straight to centerfire. Especially if I was set up on a large field. Woods might be a toss up. Flame away [emoji13]

Results are interesting but not surprising. Although I certainly didn't expect 100% to go straight to rifle, why handicap thyself with ye olde musket when thy belted magnum is legal. I might have a muzzleloader for sale.

I will be down for a couple days and will have the Savage 243. I hate muzzleloaders. The only reason I own one is that is normally when my peak cruising is observed and I will take additional distance over my bow.

Use the best tool for the job imo, coarse living in the east I will be carrying my 2nd best weapon, savage smokeless, even if we could carry centerfire here I would still haul out the muzzleloader. bows and xbows are a thing of the past for me, I find no joy with things that go twang these days but don't hate them or would deny anybody their choice of which to choose. 1 day soon it will be any weapon with a limit, I may be to old to hunt but maybe it will help keep the tradition alive awhile longer

I've never had the chance to shoot, much less kill with my muzzle. (Just got 2 years ago). As much as I want to get my first, can't pass on using the 30-06. Good luck

I hunt on my own property (Haywood County) so it's not an "extra license issue" for me, but why carry smokepoles (even tho I've had my smokeless Savage for nearly 20yrs) when you can carry the full package? I enjoy my ML and 99.9999% of my hunting is well under 200yds so distance isn't an issue anyway but I'd rather have my short, light, compact 7-08 or 35 Marlin in my lap vs a big ol single shot. The big boys DEFINITELY start cruising on my place the first 2wks of Nov, in fact I'd rather be in the woods then as much as possible than the second half of NOV!

Doing it with a "bang bang bang" will be that much more "fun fun fun".

I hope not. I don't bowhunt any more due to the heat but I believe bowhunters should have the first shot without guns in the woods.

I doubt it will be any weapon all season. But they could phase ML out and go archery to firearm. They keep the ML season for revenue imo.

What gives bow hunters more rights than any other type of hunter? please list the reasons as I don't see any, they get 4 extra doe tags here in the east , :pop:

I don't think they have more rights, but I think they deserve a head start. Once the woods are full of hunters and the deer feel the pressure it just makes killing one with a bow that much harder.

Not more rights really, but you would have to shorten the season because of increased kill numbers.

I'm sorry I see a limit that twra set now what reason would the season have to be shortened? I never said raise the limit, if after the season there is a large increase in kills you then adjust the next season limits like they have always done, false hoods never make truths imo. coarse wishes don't work well most times either :tu: , why do bow hunters deserve a easier chance to kill deer? I personally think the juvys are the only ones who deserve a head start above every body else, the rest of us should demand the women and children get first chance, most wont remember when there were women only draw hunts that went away probably due to jealousy by us/men . I thought it was a neat opportunity to get girls involved in the sport , oh well all about horn porn :poke: :tu:

But they took up the bow for the challenge and the rest of the hunters have to give up time in the woods and possibly a extra doe or 2 tag to give them a better chance to make kills, there are a lot of folks that actually love bow hunting and that's all they use, the rest would drop it in a heart beat if they could carry a gun because its not about the challenge for them but the kill/horns, the diehard bow hunters have my utmost respect, its true the farther into the season the harder it is to kill any deer with a bow.
