Curious about something

No particular reason to post this other than out of curiosity. I feel like I did a very thorough job of prepping my plots (i.e. tilling, cultipacking, covering the seed). Rain didn't show up as planned. Next chance looks like a week from now.

Given the dry and relatively hot conditions, should my seed be okay until then, not taking into account critters eating some of the seed sewn on top of the ground?

I over-seeded thinking that I might lose some seed to weather. I haven't been out to the plots today, but the weather maps that I looked at showed the rain missing me.

Depends of length of time between dryness, rain rates, and germination rates. Since you have not had germination yet you may be ok with the next rain, but the health of the field will depend on what happens after germination.
