We planted corn at the lease Saturday with no rain in sight. Just how schedules worked out. Got an 1 1/4 yesterday of rain. Whew!

That would put it at the latest time I have ever planted corn (weekend after the 4th). It made a great stand but the corn never really hardened on the cob. The deer did not seem to mind though..

Yea one of my buddies has some kind of farming degree. He told that was late as he would plant. 116 days from sprouting to full maturation. Hopefully that will work out close to mid / end October. We will see.
