Cleaning suppressors?

Depends. Centerfire suppressors usually need no maintenance. But a dunk in an ultrasonic sure wouldn't hurt anything.

Rimfire on the other hand can get some serious lead buildup. I used to try and clean the aluminum baffles, but finally gave up. Industry reps said they can double in weight and still be effective. If I notice a difference, I'll just send it in and get new baffles.

"The Dip" works really well but is a highly toxic mixture once it gets lead in it. It becomes lead acetate. the mix itself is 50% vinegar and 50% peroxide. DO NOT use it on anything aluminum.
