When you saw this, were the beans standing in water or had the field been cut then flooded?

Harvested field flooded. Sometimes dry as well. Honestly can't remember one time finding beans in a ducks crop.

I think they eat the invertebrates in those bean fields. Our field rotates beans and rice, and we don't notice any significant difference.

He's hunting tomorrow. Im going over Saturday. Shoot, we may get to double digits by Sunday. We just need 3. Lol.

Y'all better enjoy it while you can. With the temperatures coming next week it is going to lock up everything. With multiple days in a row below freezing and single digits at night it will be after Christmas before it thaws out again.

This....while @gasman Bird Identification class is really a must attend event, there was no guarantees the info you're being taught was accurate or usable.

Update from our pit today. 1 hunter, 1 duck. Lots of high flyers. What few birds that were close were stale. I ain't feeling confident about tomorrow so I will probably cancel my trip.

Thats rough.... I hate it for you but I believe I would run from that field and consider it a lesson learned. No sense in burning gas and time on gar holes.

I can say we haven't been skunked but once and they said it was their fault because they couldn't hit lol

I always hunted Arkansas, but four years ago started hunting the boot hill cause it was closer and easier from (Chattanooga area). Never had a great hunt. Had a few decent hunts but never great. Too many people and pits/blinds. I didn't get on one this year and prob won't ever. I wish it was better.

Between this season and all of last, we've had 1 decent hunt. That was last year. All the other hunts have just been terrible. This year especially. I may go back over 2-3 times between now and Jan 31. After that, I'm done with the area we are in. It has not lived up to the hype I was fed.
