The powerbelts I was using are too loose and prone to hangfire -- at least that is what I think the problem is. I thought I would try and work up a load with some different sabots, but you are right no real hurry. Just would give me a reason to get to the range. I did get lucky and managed to score ~700 Federal 209A at the local pawn shop for $20. So I am good there.
The 45cal 240grain XTP's have done very well for me. They're usually easy to find and fairly inexpensive as well.

Thanks, I have some 45 cal 230 gr gold dots and 260 gr pthp and some 44 cal 240 xtp and 300 gr speer. Picked up some green and black Harvester crush rib sabots. I figure some of that mix has to work. :)
