NAML conducted a 209 primer strength test and posted the results on the page below.
Maybe it can help you decide on some primer options.
If you had to use a 209 ML primer, a 5 grain booster charge should ignite BH 209.
Call as many places as you can and ask what they have or if they can order any,

Get the BH209 plug AND hot primers (FED 209A or CCI 209M) if you plan to shoot BH209. This verbiage is taken straight from CVA website:

"The Blackhorn plug has a hollowed out flash-hole that enables the loose powder granules to settle closer to the 209 ignition source. Whereas the CVA QRBP plug that comes standard with the rifle has a inch long pin-wide, flash-hole, making it tough to ignite loose powder evenly. Also, the QRBP's flash hole will sometime get plugged by loose powder more easily than the Blackhorn plug, and you will find yourself constantly cleaning the flash-hole before each and every shot."

I have a new extra can of BH209 here in Knoxville if anyone wants to buy for what I paid, I have the receipt. I got it thinking a friend would probably take it because if he was having trouble finding it, then he found some and didn't need it what I had picked up.

$52 and change shipped from cva hope it aint on a boat from china lol
Hey Mike,, I got one a couple of weeks ago on Ebay from a guy in Knoxville, it was only $30 for the BH209 breech plug. Here's a pic for reference.
The BH plug is hollowed out, nearly all the way to the bottom, allowing the loose powder to fall in over to the primer pocket.

Thanks, I get nervous giving my card number out to places I'm not familiar with, I have dealt with cva over the years and been treated well and have no fears about my card number being stolen. $10 shipping was a little steep I thought but it's done, setting up a wolf for the grandson. Want it to be easy to load without worrying about a crud ring and maybe not seating a bullet.
