I LOVE to eat animals... how would you rank animal cuts? ( I'm talking steaks)

1.. grass with grain supplemented angus beef

2.. elk... almost like grass fed beef... excellent flavor, no marbling, at times a little tough

3...antelope... rich, almost sweet meat. No gamey flavor if meat removed off the carcass asap after the kill

4... lamb... yum

5...whitetail... if dry aged, very serviceable as pan seared steaks...

I've never eaten mulies or exotics, heard nigali and axis are incredible
Going to eat moose next year after my Alaska hunt

Going off memory, as I have never eaten them side by side, will list top 5 like above and only red meat, otherwise the list would be long as I love me some tasty animals.

1. Elk, (back in the 80s) had the tenderloin so may of affected my choice.

2. Beef, best one was in Hokkaido Japan, but love me some U.S. Angus as well.

3. Horse - Yea, I know, but it it does taste pretty good.

4. Blacktail Deer, very good, almost as good as beef

5. Whitetail Deer, best is the heart tastes better than steak tips IMO but not a steak so.., then tenderloin, then backstrap, other parts are great too treated properly.

Bucket list: Bear, Moose, maybe kangaroo too.

I haven't tried antelope, and haven't had backstrap from elk.

I agree partly with your ranking, except that after angus I'd put green winged teal and wood duck ahead of deer backstrap.

I'd also drop lamb last—I tend to think of it as a better meat for roast.

Beef (nice marbled steak)
Moose (only had it twice - fantastic)
Antelope (quartered and on ice two hour after kill)
Pork Ribs (good meaty ones cooked right)
Deer (tenderloin and back straps)

But also enjoy lean bison, elk, duck, chicken thighs, wild turkey breast cut in strips breaded and fried, pork tenderloin, bacon wrapped dove breast and the list goes on....I like to eat.

1.Bear
2. Wild turkey
3.elk
4. Wild boar
5. Whitetails
6. Squirrels and rabbits
7. Farm raised beef
8. Everything else

If you haven't had bear fixed right you haven't lived. It's the ultimate cross between beef and pork.
