Just wondering if any one has had this experience. I bought a Barnett Jackal crossbow last year at a local Walmart to replace my aging Parker crossbow and I found out slowly that it had the red dot scope internals built completely backwards. I took it home to sight it in and had major problems even getting it onto the target at 15 yards. The more I screwed the red dot's windage to the left - the more it shot to the right. So I screwed the windage to the right and it moved the arrow group to the left! Made no sense. Then as I was looking down into the scope while pointing the xbow toward the ground, I noticed my reflection in the optics and a really small field of view which seemed weird. I looked at the scope from the front of the crossbow and noticed a wider field of view. So, I took the scope off and mounted it "backwards" on the xbow. Suddenly windage adjustments worked correctly and I got the xbow on target.
Look at this picture from a Walmart ad. With every picture of the Jackal that I found on the internet AND the box it came in, the small windage adjustment turret is on the right side of xbow. Then look at the pictures of how I had to install it with the windoage adjustment turret on the left side of the scope and with the battery compartment mounted forward instead of to the rear of the scope.
Works fine this way, Killed two of my 5 does last year with this xbow. But it took half a day of screwing around to get on target.
