Roosted him yesterday evening, got in tight on him this morning. He flew down and came right to me, doesn't happen like that often but it sure is nice when it does. He flew down at 6:05 and I shot him at 6:10. Great morning in the timber

Another blessed morning in Gods turkey woods. Only heard a couple of distant gobbles, so far off I could barely tell they were gobbles… so I just picked a pocket of brush to tuck back into and just started doing some blind calling every so often… Was dozing off a little just waiting… then all of a sudden one hammers off behind me… I gave him a little encouragement and waited… shortly I could hear him spitting and drumming… he passed by my right at about 15 yards. Looking for the lady he heard. Had to wait until he walked out past me and gave him some soft calling to keep his attention… he stopped and went into half strutt… then turned to keep looking for her… once I felt he was away far enough to adjust my position for a shot I made it happen.
