On a roll already, heck we've all mistaken a button for a doe before
I will confess to shooting one on purpose quite a few years back. Had two "twin factory" does that for a few years fawned near our house. I was back in a tree stand with a micro plot and in comes the does and they both had twin buttons with them. I had a new unblooded bow/setup and just went ahead and took the biggest button. In another year the does were going to drive the boys off my "birthing sanctuary" land anyway.
Bow worked fine, unashamed, and it went on proven into the next couple seasons.

Happened to me a few years ago.
I enjoy reading post about folks just hunting! I get caught up in "shooter bucks" or what one might score sometimes but it's satisfying just to go hunt and harvest deer. Great deer! Hope it serves your family well.
