Crazy how high it is at the stores, I sure don't get much when I sell my cows. That's a nice cut of beef. Think I may pick up a prime rib roast from Sam's this week, if they have any.

Standing rib roast on sale for $5.97 per lb at Kroger currently!
Sale lasts to the 19th, looked yesterday and the use before sale date was the 21st, will pick 1 up on the 19th hopefully so I don't have to freeze and thaw.

Alaska or bust!
Publix also has a sale. $6.99 for choice Angus. They do a really good job trimming so very little waste. We stock up every year then slice up the roast into ribeyes. I also roast the small rib bones in the oven at 325 for 2.5 hours. Delicious.

Salt them down and let set in the fridge for 24 hours uncovered. Cook them low and slow. Any left overs, do a blackened steak the next night with a crawdad cream cheese sauce.
