Deer regulation says private land deer hunting closed except unit L.
I'm I misunderstanding, you can't hunt deer on your own property?

There's a special doe only season after the end of the statewide season until the late youth hunt. It is only open on private land in unit L

I see what you are seeing, that is a season in unit L, where you can take does only, and only on private land, that is why it says closed in the rest of the areas.

I wonder if you are referring to the antlerless-only deer season which is only allowed on private lands and in Unit L. This really shouldn't even be noted on the Unit A , B, C, and D tables but it is and can be confusing. The dates for Unit L are Jan 9-13; after all "regular" deer seasons for A, B, C, D and L have ended.

Unit CWD has it own dates and regs and it doesn't have a special antlerless only season.

Edited: I see several new posts popped up before I finished mine. Looks like we are all pointing at the same thing.

Where are you moving from and where are you moving to in east Tn. It is a big area with several different units.

What they need is a few more units, like sub-units within the regular units. Then there could be different dates and regs for the sub-units.
That would help simplify things.
