Shot him broadside straight up the leg. Shot him with a Tenpoint Stealth NXT crossbow and a Grim Reaper head. He literally went about 5 feet and started flopping. Thank goodness since I was hunting private land and didn't want him to run. I was hunting in Montgomery County/Clarksville. The land I was on is zoned county but I am right up against city limits. Technically I can use a gun but choose not to since I am close to the subdivision where I live. When I say close I mean like 200 yards from my house.

I know some people are against crossbows but I can't hold a compound bow back anymore. To much damage to my shoulders.
I was one of those people, but having tried them, no longer feel any animosity towards them.

They have their pros & cons.
I recommend young folks learn to bowhunt with a traditional bow,
and by that, I mean a simple recurve or longbow.
Then transition to either a compound or crossbow if you want.

For me the big appeal of a crossbow is the ease of installing the optical sights
I now need for accurately shooting ANY type "bow".

By my thinking, the crossbow only provides maybe an additional 5 to 10 yards of high-probability range distance on live targets. It's not really much advantage over a compound bow, and in many ways, has some significant disadvantages. I much prefer to "carry" a simple recurve bow, but at the end of the day, I remain more a hunter than a particular weapon enthusiast.

Yeah I have carpal tunnel in both wrists tendonitis in both elbows and shoulder impingement in both shoulders with a surgery on my right shoulder. My joints are in a bad way after 23 years in the Army.
