He fired off at about 10 am. Gobbled in the same spot for 15 minutes. Finally cut him off and chewed him out with some aggressive cutting and he gobbled 3 times in a row and broke. Love it when you break their will to resist. Something special about it. Put on a show coming it. Could hear the spitting and drumming from 100 yards out as he was closing. The band was just an added bonus to an epic encounter. Just the perfect storm today. Trash weather for a week and the most beautiful blue bird opener one could imagine.

What county were you in, as I didn't realize TWRA was still banding birds.

Out of respect for others I will just say East Tennessee. I spoke with a representative and they told me they had trapped 8 mature birds and 3 jakes last March about 2 miles away from where I harvested him.
