Will be curious what these storms do to the future of LBL deer herds.
Hopefully a good balance of thick growth and acorns.
Also, I'm wishing it lifted the hogs away and dropped them in the TN River.

Does anyone know if there was damage to the Tennesse side? I haven't heard.

And yes, I wish it would've lifted the hogs back to whoever dropped them there.

I read somewhere that it crossed LBL in North and South.

Unless a forestry crew cleans it up to be more like a clear cut, I don't see a huge benefit. It is basically an impassable mass of twisted wood.

Would it not be cheaper to stay in motel, piney campground, or one of the campgrounds in lbl than buying the permit?
Yes, but permit is one year pass I believe. I did not realize so many people just camped in the areas. That's one way to claim some spots.

I don't remember how I did it, but there is a 3 day camping pas you can buy. In 2020 it was $10. If you get drawn the hunt permit is free and the camping permit is all you need if you camp. Before I found that I was buying a $25 annual backwoods pass. I only go if I get drawn and then I am there Thursday, Friday, and pack up and go home Saturday, so I only need a 3 day pass.

If I understand it correctly, they still require the hunting permit purchase on top of your quota hunt permit.
I think that is incorrect. I was told if you are drawn the permit you receive is good for hunting on those days and then you need the backcountry camping permit or whatever it is called in addition IF you are camping. If not you don't need anything.

yeah the roads were bad last time. I am worried if we get drawn next year about getting into our area.
They do not and will not touch anything that's not going to a boat ramp or a cemetery. Heck they won't even maintain the road number signs.
The only good thing is the road I hunt down is used as a jeep trail during the summer so unless you have a heck of a rig you're not getting anywhere near the areas I hunt without getting in a solid workout.

As far as the tornado damage, the only thing they may do is burn it. But even that may be too much effort for them.

I only based it on the following. As a federal employee myself, I understand what they can do if they choose too. I think those few words could mean a lot. Its just a few bucks for that permit so I will continue to just purchase it.

I keep buying that permit too. We need some clarification.

No point in wasting $25 if only hunting the quota draw. The quota draw normally takes 2-3 years of $10 fees anyway.

I always buy the Hunter Use permit, and they've checked to make sure that I had it when I checked in a deer. It'd be nice to not have to buy it though, if they aren't requiring it anymore.

I think that is what prompted my call. Again, I could have been given bad info OR my 3 day camping pass that I was directed to get may have been a 3 day hunting and camping pass.
