Anyone heard anything about if or when Remington will resume production of the model 700 line? I really want a Remington 700 cdl in 300 win mag. Thought about settling in the wincheater model 70 Featherlite or the savage 110 high country. I've just always been a Remington fan.

Haven't heard when they will put out anything but the 870. Hopefully it will be soon and of high quality.

I was talking to my gunsmith about a build and he said he thinks the 700 actions are available again. I would think they will have rifles again too.

Id find a good 1980s production 700 im your desired caliber. The quality of those guns were incredible. Real walnut, jeweled bolt and excellent fit and finish

I've been checking gunbroker sporadically. But they are going for stupid money.

Everything is. The last four Remington 1100 Competition Synthetics have sold for $1800 to $2500. They have been calling them "rare". I'm tempted to put mine on there.

I have had both. I like the safety on the Remington more - easier and quieter. I bought my 70 in 300 win mag for Rockies hunt. I liked the fact that the bolt disassembles by hand for firing pin cleaning and Maintenance. Otherwise they are pretty similar shooters.

My son has an older model 700 mountain rifle. Light weight. Sure would like to have one but getting too old to break in a new rifle.

I was high bidder on a Remington 700 Titainium in 270 Winchester on Gunbroker. Looking forward to its arrival.

The only thing to watch for on the Bergaras is twist rate if you plan to handload with some of the high BC heavier bullets. They use slower twists in most of their rifles. It kept me from getting a 7 mag Bergara.

If you are looking at a CDL, I would take a hard look at the Bergara Timber in 300 Win Mag. It's a 700 action clone so all triggers, scope bases,etc for a 700 work with it. Not all stocks look like this one but you may be able to find one.

If you are looking at a CDL, I would take a hard look at the Bergara Timber in 300 Win Mag. It's a 700 action clone so all triggers, scope bases,etc for a 700 work with it. Not all stocks look like this one but you may be able to find one. View attachment 120831

I had an '80s 700 BDL in 7mm Rem mag. Always found it a bit heavy. I replaced it with a commercial Mauser 3000. I found the Mauser to be an excellent rifle, you might consider those.

I doubt they'll move 700 production there. They're currently producing 700s in the Ilion plant.

Anything pre xbolt trigger is good up to around 2005-2006. The police models after those years are still very good rifles.
