Wounded Deer Question

I am wondering if the pedicule will be damaged from the abnormalities? That would explain why some deer once injured never return to normal antler growth. Kinda goes to show how a healthy adult deer reroutes surplus chemicals from bone growth to antlers. Truly amazing pictures.

Body injuries are different from pedicle injuries which in turn are different than velvet antler injuries. Each of these can cause antler abnormalities, but for different reasons. The only one of the three that is almost guaranteed to cause abnormalities for life are pedicle injuries.

I'm with you on that hitek...my kids call me the great Homer hunter because many of my bucks have two little tines pointing up in the middle of their heads like Homer Simpsons hair!

That was my thought...it does have a droptine and it has some history behind it for my friend
