Wind?

OK I'm new at this and just learning about hunting the wind. Do you guys check the wind in the stand and if so why? Where I hunt the wind changes direction about every five min. I have a feather on my stabilizer (thanks for the tip by the way) that I watch. I'm new so just wondering exactly what knowledge you get from wind that changes direction and what you do with the knowledge. I understand checking the wind to know what stand to get in but it changes by the time I get there most of the time.

I check the forecast for the area I'm hunting and get the general wind direction. Sometimes the wind will swirl on stand but the general wind direction is usually pretty accurate.

I check it before I go hunting then choose the spot accordingly. Although my past few times out I've felt it blowing from just about every direction
