Wind is in the forecast for Friday and Saturday, up to 20-30 mph. I was going to burn a vacation day on Fri. What have you guy's seen on windy days? I know in the midwest states windy days are the norm. and it does'nt affect them so much, but here?

I believe it is location specific as to how wind affects the movement of deer. Certain places I hunt there is little to no movement if the wind gets above 10-20mph, however there are certain places that I only see movement, and alot of it, when the wind does get that high.

i have never had much luck when the wind gets up around 20+ mph and staying in a treestand can be an adventure.

30-35mph winds here in KC , heading that way . Have at it . I have never had much luck in high winds and holding a bow steady can be difficult , not to mention the potential safety issues with dead limbs and trees around my stands .

I actually had better luck on windy days hunting more open terrain . Deer get a little nervous in thick areas when everything is moving and noisy . In open terrain , they can see danger better when their other senses may be impaired by the wind compared to thick areas .
Just my opinion .

Killed a 7 point this afternoon with 20 mph winds. The deer was moving at 4:30 PM and it was a semi open area.
