Tried the Winchester primers Saturday during Ky. Muzzleloader season. Killed three does Sat morning and loaded again. All loaded the same. No crud ring at all. Have to say they worked like advertised. Anybody else tried them?

Used them last year for the first time. They seemed to work well but my rifles have never really had a problem with the dreaded crud ring.

I used them when I sighted in a while ago. Much cleaner than other primers for sure. It was the first time I used 777 powder so I don't know if they prevented the crud ring or not. Either way there were no signs of one forming.

I'm using the Remington "Kleanbore Muzzleloading Primers". I don't know if they;re the same as the Winchester Triple 7 primers, but I suspect they are. They're advertised to be designed specifically for "black Powder Substitues". I've experienced no crud ring with them, but I also swab the bore each shot with a damp patch then a dry patch.
