STINKS!!! Just got advisory for Humphreys county of 15-35 mph winds with 45mph gusts plus rain!!! Lol Guess it will be a hut kind of morning. If I see a deer I will consider it a good day!

Good luck all!

and it gets worse. mid-seventies to near eighties next week in Hickman County. Going to be a cool down the second week of ML but I will be hunting KY rifle opener. Good luck, keep your powder dry.

I don't want to stink my good spot up for a bad day of weather so I'm going to a different spot than i had planned to hunt.

Weather Underground saying rains start 8am in my woods and increasing through morning. Will sleep in, but appears to be a 1-4pm window of 40%/50% chance before rains fall in earnest again.

Can't hunt Sunday so decided to hunt the afternoon from the ground. Via OnX have had my eye on a new part of the public I hunt. Will use this as much to scout as anything. Not going to stink up any of the honey holes. Plus, I figure the rain will chase away most other hunters at least by tomorrow afternoon.

I'm staying in...rain and high winds...me don't like it...I'm off the second week and weather looks great...

Rain with swift wind means a change of tactics. Rather than sitting in stand I'll take the opportunity to sneak through some thickets.
That's the best conditions for still/sneak hunting.
Wind moves a lot of things around, confuses deers sight.
Blowing wind deteriorates his hearing.
Swirling winds confuses his sense of direction.
Bucks won't bed down in 15+ mph winds, they can't trust their nose.
Killed my first record book Pope and Young buck in 20+ mph snowstorm, snow blowing sideways, still hunting. Doe walked by me at 10 yds, looking at her backtrack. 10 pt 137 walked through 2 minutes later, 20 yd shot.

No rain here except for acorns. Sitting in pop-up my hunting buddy is a day or two younger and walked on up the ridge to the shack. Wind is ruff

Stuck to my plan. Arrived around 1pm. Got ready and went in to still hunt. With the heavy rain earlier and wind I was feeling great. Feeling silent and deadly.

And then the first tree came crashing down 50 yards away. And then the second about 10 minutes later. And then a large limb from another fell 10 feet from me. I got the $/&@ out of there. Shortest hunt ever. Live to hunt tomorrow.

Strong South wind for me all morning, not good for my stands so set up tree seat on the periphery of the feeding area. Saw a doe and fawn. Going to a BDay party for a good friend this PM. Going to hit it hard after church tomorrow.
