I'd much rather eat 18-20"ers. The bigger one tastes rank.
Once brought home filets from four 28" fish from Erie. After eating one filet and it wasn't good, a week later, ate another.. Could only eat about five bites then I quit.
Gave the rest of the filets to my Asian neighbor, maybe he cooked them different.
I just brought home 13 walleyes and two sauger from Watts Bar yesterday. Hope they taste good!!
I ate a filet off one of the big ones last night, it was pretty dang tasty.

We got 10 Walleye and 1 (my first ever) Sauger. I can't say enough about Scott Lillie and Scenic City Charters @rsimms We weighed the whole stringer; 38lbs.! few of our catch today:
