This is old news. He denied any interest several weeks ago. Admitted he's been approached (but did not name the team(s)) and not interested.

Now Saban, that might be a different story. He was D coordinator for Belichek there in the early 90s. But, I think he's more likely to go to Indy. :pop:

I believe the only way Saban ever returns to the NFL will be if he has almost full control and the team has a QB with what it takes to lead a team and take them deep into the playoffs on a yearly basis. Even with that on the table, it would take a stupid amount of cash to land him.

Saban won't go to the NFL, even with full control.

The players would not play for him. They play for him in college for one reason only: the chance of playing in the NFL. Ala Calipari, he can point to his ability to place players in the pros, and that is all they see. There is no other viable reason why a 5 star stud would go to Bama, knowing full well that they most likely will have to sit a year or two before ever seeing the field.

That won't fly in the Pros, and he knows it.
