Say something bad about the duck blinds or the process on facebook and they reply and basically say, if you do it again you will be banned from the TWRA facebook page. :D

Cracks me up.

We did good, if you don't believe us, just ask us.

Hold on, I don't Facebook so this may be dumb, but TWRA has their own guidelines above and beyond what the general Facebook community guidelines are? I am very curious to see why those are, @RUGER could you post what their link shows in their reply?
I am also curious how long they have had guidelines, and rather or not they changed them recently to try and work around people dragging them through the digital coals on FB…

I know FB, Twitter & YouTube arbitrarily apply vague rules to effectively censor content they and their army of fact checkers don't like but I've never seen or heard of a profile being able to do the same? I mean I know they can block other profiles, but I don't know it's all very curious to me

As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change.
They have added another LONG post about the rules of their facebook page.
I will just post the one line that is any different than any other common sense rule.

• Repetitive content, i.e. repeated postings that are counterproductive

LOL

Yes sir, here is what they are posting on any reply that has to do with the duck blind fiasco.

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency

If you do not refrain from posting such content, we will block you from the agency page. Thank you for understanding.

Far as I know this is brand new and I GUARANTEE you it stems DIRECTLY from people dragging them through the coals.
They screwed the pooch and everyone knows it but in their eyes they are champions of hunters all across the state.

I will add, I understand why they are doing it but when they say the majority spoke they are full of crap.
Any questionnaire can be worded in such a way to get the desired results.
For example:

They send one out to 10,000 people and 9,000 of them live in East TN and they ask, "Would you be in favor of increased waterfowl opportunities?"
Probably all 10,000 would say heck yeah ! ESPECIALLY the ones in East TN where duck hunting sucks.

If they asked, "Would you be in favor of us totally tearing every single aspect of duck hunting and the draw system down and totally re-doing the whole thing and take the best 60 day blinds out of the 60 day draw in every WMA in West TN?"
How many would be for that?
Yeah, the 9,000 in East TN.
Then they can sit back and say, see everyone wanted more opportunities and WE DID IT !!

We did a good job. If you don't believe us, just as us.

If anyone that doesn't have facebook is interested how they will continue to do whatever they want, no matter what anyone really wants this is how they put it.
Basically if you ain't shatting unicorns and fairy dust onto them stay off their page.
Fair enough I guess.

I have seen their posting on several of the duck blind posts, and I believe that they have added the above two lines to their terms of use in response to all the duck blind comments on all their social media posts. Just my belief, I don't know what it said before all the houpla started when they deleted one of their posts about the segment draws and then started turning comments off for some of them later to prevent it.

Catering to the holier than thou crowd. They have become quite pathetic in their poor practice of hiding the wishes of their 'steering' committee.

The twra officer's and the one's below the commissioner's are being ruled by the commissioner's and higher ups. I'm sure there getting tired of dealing with it but are forced to, there stuck in the middle.
I have nothing but respect for the officers and have nothing against any of them.

The devils know who they are

Well reckon where most folks are at that wanted a 1 or 2 buck limit? I input nothing about any duck hunting as I don't live close enuff to partake lol, I would be hooked on it as I love shooting at stuff flying. but look out a 2 Duck limit might get passed soon so everybody can have some birds lol

I wouldn't doubt that a bit man.

With the way some of these blinds have been set up, I doubt anyone would kill a two duck limit.

Really disappointed in the whole thing.
Yep.

What is really gonna suck is when / if they burn 34 after the season they will kill the trees around it just like they did at Tiggret or however you spell it.
Gonna ruin a historically good spot.

Nobody likes seeing copy+paste gibberish on every post about kids and 91-year old grandmas killing deer. At one point even commenters were sick of the attempted hijacking, and started posting derogatory memes about the copypastas.

Nobody likes the fiasco that they created either.
I would say they got tdubs attention though.

Granted all they did was take their ball and go home but still.

Well what all this leads me to now is the fact that TWRA pushed forward this new deal under the guise that there was some broad based hunter support behind the effort. The surveys these agencies send out generally lead to whatever answers they're looking for anyway so I don't know if they had some deep dive statistical data to back that claim up, but it's awful damn hard to ignore the public outcry since this was implemented. And now instead of responding and pivoting based on blatantly obvious hunter sentiment it's "you're not allowed to talk about it because of rules"… and the relentless copy and paste was annoying and detracted from their communication efforts via social media, but shouldn't that make them take pause and wonder how to address it instead of how do we silence it?
It's a slippery slope for them I'm afraid when they try to pointedly censor some comment but not others. They're not in the business of PR management and censorship and by listing specific infractions it opens them up to more heartburn in the future.

They failed to learn the lesson my dad taught me a long time ago.
When you find yourself in a hole, QUIT DIGGING.

Now, all the ones that were posting the copy / paste deal are tagging twra in every meme post they make about it. LOL

They will never admit they were wrong. Just hoping we can get the tier bs stopped by next year.

I have to wonder, since the 42 blind grab was passed as a pilot program, if the new Commission/Comissioners will take a look at it and listen to the feedback they have been given from the past 2 seasons and decide that it isn't working and make changes back to what has predominately worked for years, or if they will decide that the changes didn't go far enough and they need more blinds to get a better feel for the next two years. I think 2022 is the year for rule setting proposals for the next 2 seasons. Guess we'll see if they come up with a limit drop or shorter season, or some other changes to take our attention off the blind grab and give something else to fuss about.

I figure whatever they can do to F it up even more that's what they will do.
Again, I just pray we can get it done away with.

I actually received the survey they sent out that was done by the University of Tennessee. I am the only one that I personally know of that did receive it. The way the majority of the questions were worded, and it being multiple choice so you had to pick one of the answers it gave you, it was very very hard to answer in a way that was against the change. The survey was extremely biased and I could immediately tell what their agenda was. Right after I took the survey I text our group and told them to watch TWRA was about to make some big changes and not for the better.
