Reset and moved 6 traps yesterday. This may be the one that pulled out a few weeks ago when I got up to it.

Got a coyote pretty close to the house this morning. Shuffled around a couple traps to hopefully pick up a little more action. Had a decent week with my first serious week of trapping. 3 bobcats and 1 coyote. I did release a little kitten this morning. The one I got yesterday weighed 7.5 lbs. The one this morning was smaller than it so decided to release it.

I haven't read up on tanning lately.. but, shouldn't you stretch with the skin side out?

Already stretched i washed the hide after tanning per my taxidermist instructions to remove any tanning oil from the fur

Just a raccoon and possum on today's check. Didn't get any pics.

Had "something" pull out on todays check, left blood behind but could not find any tracks or other blood to determine what it was!
Triggered the sets till after the rain moves through then will reset.

I had a raccoon do that Sunday. Was in the trap for about 4 hours then my camera showed it running away. Left a decent amount of blood.

Thats what a buddy of mine said. Im puzzled tho of not seeing any tracks as much as it tore the ground up around it. Had 2 fox tracks within 1/2" of each side of the pan the day before! Added some feathers and then found the pullout today.
I'm new to trapping but enjoying it for sure! 8 coons and 4 possums, no dogs or cats yet but shud be helping the nesting habitat at this point.

This is my 3rd year. It's addicting lol. I started out with DP's and thought I was good with them. Then shortly after wanted to go after bobcats and coyotes. I get mad when I get a raccoon or possum in a foothold but like you said ridding any of them is helping the turkeys.

I know we have a couple of bobcats on our property too because ever so often they come through. One is shaped like pit bull. So, what do you do with a bobcat? I never put any thought into it but as in your picture def a possibility.

If the question is for me we skin them and i give to a taxidermist friend .
I just wanted to tan the ones in the picture to try it and i may start tanning them to sell or make some hats or gloves.
To me a cat is one of the prettiest most efficient killer in the woods

This one is skinned and drying on a board right now. I have a good friend that is a biologist that does research with dermestid beetles. Every skull goes to him to use in mammalogy classes.
I've got a better picture. Pretty good cat.
