what are u using? we use sevin but that stuff aint to good so last year we sprayed them with pemethrin and it seemed to work a lot better. like the stuff u spray cows with for lice and flies etc.can get it at coop or tsc for around 15 for a quart which makes alot of spray.
id try pemethrin dont know how well it works as a preventative but i know if you spray the bugs with it they will die or any other kind of insect for that matter i use it on ants wasp all garden insects and ticks.
I haven't seen any bugs on my potatoes yet but I usually go to my local garden store every year and ask what is working best now. Seems like the potatoe beetles get immune to certain products every couple of years and I have to change to whatever the owner recommends this year............and he is always right on the money.
