I've always had an ultra nock on my bow, but been readin on string loops. I've heard they are quieter and make you shoot a little faster. I've also read that if you have an older release it could cut the loop. I've hit myself in the face before and ain't ever been hit harder by anybody else so I really don't wanna do it again. I just need some advice on em cause I don't know nothin about loops. Thanks

Probably 99% of compounds use a D loop these days. I think their effectiveness has been vetted at this point.

I've always preferred the Dloop over the metal loops. With that said I see that QAD has come out with some colored metal loops that look pretty nice.

Re: String loop vs ultra nock

I tie nock points in and then install a D-loop with BCY #24—that's the only thing I recommend. I use nock points for a couple of reasons, it practically eliminates nock-pinch and the arrow is always in the same place every time and I can change the D-loop with no problems and no measuring.
