In the past couple days I've caught bucks chasing does on camera. Yesterday I had a huge buck walking through behind the house and he didn't seem to care when I opened the door. He was fixed on a doe that had just walked through.

I thought the rut was over. I've only owned my farm for a short time so I'm new to hunting in Lincoln County. When does the rut usually shut down?

That's a difficult question time wise. It's done when the last doe has been bread. Someone just posted a fawn with spots. Go back about 5 months and that's when it was conceived. I think the major rut is over middle of November. Good luck.

There is not a county in this whole state where the "rut" is over. Young yearling does grouped up now and fixin to cycle for their first time, along with any older does still not bred. Most of the best bucks here in these mountains, get killed these last 2 weeks. A good many of them, have never been on anyone's "camera" 😉
