So from what I've read you can only deer hunt with a rifle one week in November and a couple weeks in December? I thought for some reason it was same as statewide being national forest?

Yep two rifle hunts in South Cherokee

You also have hog and bear hunts with dogs and bow hunts

You also have a week long muzzleloader hunt the end of October.
