If anyone has ever scored from this area and you have stories or pics, please post em. The deer seem to be like ghosts in this area.

Have not hunted that area in several years. Last time I was there the hogs had the ground plowed.
Have heard of some decent deer from there but as SSlater said, it is hard hunting and the deer are spread out pretty good.

Check out around the farr gap trail. I saw some buck sign back during the October deer hunt

TJ86, that's where I normally hunt. Had two big hogs at 25 yards opening day of rifle but they got a pass. Was too far back in and was hunting solo to mess with that.
I meant bear hunt, decided I got easier places to hunt! That place is rough! Might go back during the archery hunt next year. I got short term memory loss and a high tolerance for pain!

It was a big sow. I've hunted this area with some guys for many years and we're finally started to get the hang of where these hogs like to be. I won't give you specific spots but I can tell you what to look for! No dogs either all on foot
I've heard there is a place called Jeffries Hell in Citico and the name precedes it !

That's a little further north than I huntin. It's steep up there - really anywhere out there

That rifle has some character to it. I've stomped around all up in there and it's definitely not a place to take a safe queen of a gun.

I miss hunting that area. May get back to it next fall
Here's one we killed last year, make sure you make plenty of sausage!! Congrats them hogs are a true mountain trophy!

That's a good looking pig! I'd love to hear about your hunt. And yes sausage will be made!
This was a deer hunt and a big sow drug this boar right by my boy. We don't really target pigs specifically but will take one of given the opportunity. Can't turn down that much meat!

Several years ago I was hunting South Cherokee and found an old logging Rd at the bottom of this long very steep ridge, put a stand about 25 yds above the logging Rd, this was the last year muzzleloader was either sex, and I shot a big doe, rounded up the guys and it took a little over 3 hours to drag it out uphill all the way, told the guys I'll never do that again, well the very next weekend from the same stand I shot a big hog, another 3hr drag, now they want to know where I'm hunting before they go with me.
