Who is hunting SC tomorrow? I have over a mile hike to my spot in the morning. I'm hunting some hardwood ridges with a big creek bottom on each side. The ridges are covered in acorns. Fingers crossed.

There were three of us hunting with no deer seen. I hunted until about 12:15 and the other two hunted all day. We each saw numerous turkeys which was good. I'm going in solo in the morning to a spot along the river that can be great. I talked to another hunter I bumped into when I was hiking out and he blanked also.
I say every year that I'm going to try to hunt south Cherokee "next year…" then next year comes and I say it again. I really want to try it, but life always gets in the way

I hunted South Cherokee this morning down off of Sina branch, jumped 2 hogs walking in and see tons of squirrels, but no deer.
Glad to hear you seen some turkeys. I hunted last year and they were few and far between. Finally called a bird in buy decided to pass him as I felt like I was killing an endangered species.

I didn't see any deer this morning but did find three beds and a lot of poop at the top of the ridge I was hunting. It was literally raining acorns this morning where I was at.
Did you find any buck sign?

I'll be out later this week for the first time. Did a little scouting a few weeks ago and found a hot spot. Hoping the warmer temps don't ruin it. We shall see…

Thx. I mainly hunt around the Ocoee and Hiwassee rivers.
I will be in south Cherokee Saturday. I found a water hole that had a ton of deer sign at it snd a good trail leading from thicket to water

Thanks man since they controlled burned the mountain it's not been easy hunting

Doe, spike, and jumped another buck out of his bed but not sure how big he was.
Buddy said he had a monster bear walk by him at about 30 yards. Couldn't shoot it though as bears aren't legal on this hunt. I think it mentally killed him. He's been after his first bear for several years and even went on a hunt in Maine but still hasn't tagged one.
